CommunityCare Expands Coverage for Telemedicine Services

3/20/2020

CommunityCare has expanded coverage for fully insured members to include telemedicine and e-visits for all medically necessary services and symptoms.

Previously, these services were specific to COVID-19 symptoms.

As the public health crisis related to COVID-19 continues to evolve, we are dedicated to ensuring our members have access to health care services. Telemedicine coverage will enable insured plan members to receive a wide range of health care services from their providers without having to travel to a medical facility.

Members will have 100% coverage when accessing their in-network providers who are participating in providing telemedicine services and will not be subject to any copayment, coinsurance or deductible during the COVID-19 pandemic. As an example, a member who has a live follow-up telemedicine visit with their psychiatrist can do so without any copay and the provider will bill CommunityCare for 100% of the cost of the service.

CommunityCare will continue to waive fully insured member copays, deductibles or coinsurance associated with the COVID-19 tests ordered by an in-network provider as medically necessary and consistent with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines. As Oklahoma’s largest locally owned health insurer, CommunityCare is invested in the health of the local community and is committed to addressing the challenges presented by COVID-19 and is prioritizing prevention, testing and treatment.

In addition, members may request an early refill of maintenance medications from their pharmacy. Members may call the CommunityCare pharmacy help desk at (918) 594-5211 for more information.

CommunityCare will continue to cover 100% of the cost for telemedicine and/or e-visits to either Saint Francis Health System or Ascension St. John for fully insured members.

Members may contact CommunityCare customer service at (918) 594-5242 for questions about coverage or information on how to access telemedicine services and what will be required for reimbursement.

CommunityCare will continue to monitor this evolving situation and will provide updates as needed.
